Cane or Marine Toad, Rhinella marina Toad

Found on a large tree partially in the surf at a beach near Hana, Maui. This is an invasive species brought to Hawaii around 1930 to help control the beetle pest eating the sugar cane crops.

I find it a fascinating species particularly for its toxic execrations that have been used for everything from hair growth, aphrodisiac, possibly treating prostate cancer, in cardiac surgery to lowering the heart rates of patients and for pregnancy tests.
